RED Releases 3rd Single ‘Sever’ from New Album ‘Declaration’
GRAMMY® nominated, RIAA Certified Gold-selling Christian rock band RED is set to release its seventh studio album, Declaration, April 10, 2020. In anticipation of the new album, RED released its latest single, "Sever," today, joining lead single "The Evening Hate" and follow-up "From The Ashes" as advance tracks from the album.
Currently on the 42-date arena run in the USA that began last weekend and runs through March, RED's Winter Jam performances will hit Chicago's Sears Centre Arena; State Farm Arena in Atlanta; Nashville's Bridgestone Arena; Pittsburgh's PPG Paints Arena; Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis; Oklahoma City's Chesapeake Energy Arena; Kansas City, MO's Sprint Center; PNC Arena in Raleigh, NC and numerous other top venues in markets around the country before concluding March 29 at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland. Thereafter, the band will head to the United Kingdom, Europe, Russia and Ukraine for 20+ dates in April and May.
Written by RED guitarist Anthony Armstrong, longtime RED producer Rob Graves and Keith Wallen (Breaking Benjamin, Adelitas Way), "Sever" hits all the top hallmarks of an ear-crushing RED classic.
"We sever the tie of constraint; the leash that keeps us cohering to someone else's plan rather than stepping out and realizing our true potential," says Anthony of the impetus behind the single.
Sever these fraying ties
Cannot replace this life forever
Watching your slow demise
With the turning of this knife
I'll sever
(From the "Sever" chorus)
RED, comprised of Michael Barnes (vocals), identical twin brothers Anthony Armstrong (guitars) and Randy Armstrong (Bass), and Dan Johnson (drums), is taking "Sever," "The Evening Hate," "From The Ashes" and a bevy of its No. 1 hits and fan favorites on the road. Wrapping a 34-city major market tour with In Flames last month and returning this month on the Winter Jam Tour Spectacular, which is regularly ranked among Pollstar's top first quarter events
