Pastor Tony Evans Thanks All for Praying for a Successful Operation for his Daughter Priscilla Shirer

Pastor Tony Evans thanked supporters for praying for his daughter, Priscilla Shirer.  On Monday, Shirer underwent surgery to remove a lobe in her left lung. 

On his Instagram account, Tony Evans, Shirer's father and senior pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, Texas, writes, "This IS a glimpse at the Body of Christ in action. Thank you for praying for Priscilla today." This IS a glimpse at the Body of Christ in action. Thank you for praying for Priscilla today."

Not only did supporters pray for Shirer, many even helped the Shirer family in practical ways. Tony Evans acknowledges with gratitude: "When you've had a few really tough weeks and you're on the eve of a few more tough ones but then your people show up - cooking and cleaning and making a celebration out of thin air."   

Meanwhile, Shirer's husband, Jerry, tells us that the surgery was a success and his wife is recovering.  "My bride put out a message last week about a procedure she had on Monday.Surgery went well.Doctors are pleased. We are so grateful for your prayers." 

Not too long ago, on December 31st, Tony Evans just lost his wife to death. In a heartbreaking post, Tony Evans writes:  "Just before the sun came up this morning, the love of my life, Lois Irene Evans, transitioned from earth and watched her first sunrise from heaven. I had the privilege of holding her hand as she was lulled into eternity. Our four children surrounded her as well. As she slipped away, we told her how much we love her, how proud we are of her, and how thankful we are for the life she has lived. We are what we are because of her.

Thank you so much for praying for my wife and for my family. God answered our prayers this morning by relieving her of suffering. But the truth is, He has been answering our prayers all along. Lois lived beyond medical expectations, not once, but over and over again. God has been so kind to give us more time to make wonderful memories."
