Singer/songwriter & Radio Host Perry LaHaie Encourages Believers to Expand their Frontiers
Singer/songwriter and morning drive-time radio host Perry LaHaie has a long-held passion for bringing the gospel to the Muslim world through his work with Frontiers, an international community of people dedicated to inviting Muslims all over the world to follow Jesus. Now he is encouraging other believers to be 'ruined for the ordinary' by joining seasoned Frontiers gospel messengers on short-term mission trips during the summer of 2019.
"Our 2019 Frontiers summer trips give you the great adventure of sharing Jesus with Muslims who really want to hear the gospel," says LaHaie. "You'll work with seasoned Frontiers workers, helping them accomplish their long-term goal, which is to see the gospel planted in their region and spread like a wildfire. Trust me, this is an experience that will stay with you for the rest of your life!"
Far from a one-size-fits-all organization, Frontiers provides short-term mission trips ranging from one to five weeks, in such diverse regions as the Middle East, North Africa, the Arab Gulf, Turkey, Central Asia, and India.
"It's not all super serious the whole time," LaHaie says. "There is a lot of fun built into these trips. The Muslims in these regions want to meet you. They want to do fun stuff with you. They want to hear about your faith."
"On your Frontiers short-term mission trip, you might want to explore Muslim cities where there are no known followers of Jesus: pray through the streets, make friends with Muslims, and pave the way for future long-term teams to be sent," LaHaie continues. "You might want to teach conversational English classes for Muslim college students while experiencing life in an Indian city, or navigate the Nile River with a local guide and discover how God is moving among the peoples of Egypt. You might teach English to Muslim kids in the Arab Gulf or go to Southeast Asia and catch a vision to reach this region with the gospel in our generation. These trips take you out of your comfort zone. You have to take a risk, a leap of faith, but you won't do it alone. You don't have to be a Bible "black belt," and you don't have to be an Islamic scholar. You just need to be an ordinary person who wants to love Muslims."
