Jed & Claire Seneca Featured on Hallmark Channel's "Home & Family"
Frethouse Records artist Jed & Claire Seneca were featured on the Hallmark Channel's daily morning show, "Home & Family," earlier this week. The award-winning husband/wife country duo prepared "Hazel's Chicken & Sausage Gumbo," a special family recipe created by Claire's mother in their native Louisiana. They also shared about their music and latest recording, Carry You Through, with "Home & Family" co-hosts Debbie Matenopoulos and Cameron Mathison.
"Being able to recreate my mom's gumbo recipe, along with Debbie and the 'Home & Family' team, was so much fun," said Claire Seneca. "Since we are from Louisiana, Jed and I both grew up with gumbo being part of our culture. We have taken that tradition with us wherever we have lived, using the dish as a means to bring friends and family together. My mom would be so proud to know that folks across the country have been introduced to Hazel's Gumbo!"
The Emmy Award-nominated "Home & Family" airs daily on the Hallmark Channel. Hosted by Debbie Matenopoulos and Cameron Mathison, the two-hour show originates from a fully functioning New England colonial-style home built on the Universal Studios lot in Los Angeles. Now in its 7th season, the series offers viewers advice in the areas of home improvement, parenting, health and fitness. Hallmark Channel, owned by Hallmark Cards, Inc., is Crown Media Family Networks' flagship 24-hour cable television network, distributed nationwide to 86 million homes.
Jed and Claire Seneca burst onto the Christian and country music scenes in 1994 with their self-titled debut, garnering widespread acclaim for their fresh sound and polished stage performances. Demonstrating cross-generational appeal, their song "The Real True Love Can Wait" became an anthem for the teen purity movement. Takin' A Stand, released in 1996, continued to place them at the forefront of the burgeoning Christian country genre, and they were named Vocal Duo of the Year by the Christian Country Music Association. In the years following, Jed and Claire focused on church planting, where they were instrumental in the development of congregations in Indianapolis and Austin, among other locales. Their latest recording, Carry You Through, released in October on the Frethouse Records label.
