Cory Asbury Honored With First-Ever GRAMMY® Nod For "Reckless Love"
Cory Asbury's resonating hit "Reckless Love" has garnered the Michigan-based singer, songwriter and worship leader his first GRAMMY® nomination. The honor marks the first nomination for a Bethel Music Artist. The single topped charts across the board including Billboard's Hot Christian Songs Chart, Mediabase Christian Audience Chart and the Christian Airplay Chart. The 61st Annual GRAMMY® Awards are slated for Feb. 10, and will air on CBS.
"Honestly, I thought about playing it cool and saying something about being humbled and honored, but that's just not me. I am freaking out and rightly so," shares Asbury. "This song has meant so much to me, so to see it land with The Recording Academy as well is extremely meaningful. Huge congrats to Lauren, Joel and Luke, Tauren and Bart as well."
The notably covered track was dually released by fellow GRAMMY® acclaimed artists Israel Houghton, Michael W. Smith & more. "Reckless Love" was named Song of the Year and Worship Song of the Year at the 49th Annual GMA Dove Awards and earned fan-voted wins for Worship Song Of The Year and Breakout Single at this year's K-LOVE Fan Awards. The track also placed well in Billboard's Year-End Charts claiming the No. 1 spot on the Hot Christian Songs, Christian Airplay Songs and Christian Digital Song Sales Charts and No. 3 on the Christian Streaming Songs Chart.
Asbury's album bearing the same name released with Bethel Music earlier this year, topping Billboard's Top Christian Albums Chart. As an artist, Asbury earned spots on Billboard's Year-End Charts including Top Christian Artists (No. 4), Hot Christian Songs Artist (No. 3), Christian Airplay Artists (No. 5), Christian Digital Song Sales Artist (No. 3) and Christian Streaming Songs Artist (No. 6). He has also toured much of the year including stints with Bethel Music and fellow GRAMMY® nominee Matt Maher.
