Martina McBride to Release First Christmas Album in 20 Years
Country music singer Martina McBride will release her first Christmas album in 20 years! The Holiday Season is set for release on October 19, the project will feature McBride's effortless vocals with a big band sound.
"It's been exactly 20 years since I released White Christmas. With that album I wanted to make it classic and something that would stand the test of time, which I feel like it has done. I wanted to accomplish the same thing with It's The Holiday Season, but with a different feel. So I decided to make most of the album with a big-band swing vibe that takes you back to the Sinatra, Dean Martin, Ella Fitzgerald records. We recorded more of the pop Christmas numbers that lend themselves to that kind of feel rather than the focusing on the hymns like we did with White Christmas. I think they are great companion pieces and my hope is that they will both be enjoyed for years to come," said the powerhouse singer.
In addition to recording the project, McBride will embark on her "The Joy of Christmas Tour," featuring a local orchestra in each stop.
"When I stood in the studio listening to that 38-piece band play, I knew I wanted to take it on the road," she shared. "I am so excited to bring this music to life on stage and bring some of the joy of the season to people. Performing with the symphonies will be such a grand and unique experience for me. I can't wait!"

McBride's holiday cheer doesn't end with the new music, however, as the acclaimed chef will also release a new cookbook on October 30. Entitled Martina's Kitchen Mix: My Recipe Playlist for Real Life, the book will feature nearly 300 pages of special family recipes, as well as McBride's very own creations.
"When I find a delicious recipe I can't wait to share it, just like when I find a great song," said McBride. "I'm excited to share what I am cooking right now in my own kitchen for my family and friends. These are some of my very favorite recipes I've created since the last book, as well as some family recipes that have been handed down to me. I feel like this book has a good balance of health-conscious dishes and a few recipes for when you want to splurge, which represents the way I eat in real life."
