Avatar Director James Cameron Teams with Cirque du Soleil for Live Show Production
James Cameron, creator of Avatar is giving fans of the world of Pandora even more to be excited about besides the upcoming Avatar 2, 3 and 4 in the upcoming years. Cameron has revealed that he will be teaming up with Cirque du Soleil to make a beautiful, live performance based on the world of Avatar.
Cameron shares about the collaboration saying, "Over the years, I have discovered the extraordinary talents and imaginations of both the artists and the creative forces behind Cirque du Soleil... I know we share the common goal of bringing audiences to another level of entertainment experiences. I look forward to doing just that on this project."
Daniel Lamarre, President and CEO of Cirque du Soleil, announced the partnership at C2MTL-Commerce and Creativity Conference, a corporate event aimed at helping businesses integrate creativity into their organisations. The planned arena tour will be produced by Cameron's Lightstorm Entertainment.
Lamarre spoke highly of Cameron, "Our relationship with Jim Cameron began with my visit at his Avatar cutting room. I am thrilled that almost five years later, Cirque du Soleil will be able to explore the very inspirational Avatar realm for the live stage."
Cirque du Soleil is known for its stunning aerial performances, and Cameron can copule that with the floating islands, avian mounts, and the athletic Na'vi population of Pandora to make a breath-taking display. This will be director Cameron's second time working with the elaborate circus troupe -- he executive produced Worlds Away, an amalgamation of Cirque du Soleil's stage productions directed by Andrew Adamson.
So as fans wait for 2016 and Avatar 2 to arrive in theaters, they can be looking out for Cirque du Avatar? (no name is picked yet) to be coming out in 2016 as well.
