Rend Collective Are Recording their New Album
Hailing from a small town off the coast of Northern Ireland, Rend Collective (Gareth Gilkeson, Chris Llewellyn, Ali Gilkeson, Patrick Thompson and Stephen Mitchell) wants to be known as a celebration band, worshiping for God's Glory and fame. The Northern Ireland worship band have begun work recording their new studio album. Whilst no release schedule has been set, the band hinted they have plenty of new songs on the way.
"I guess the thing we're most excited for right now is that we're back in the studio working hard to make new music, and already have a ton of new stuff we can't wait to show you", confirmed the group. "So far in this new record we feel the heartbeat of the kingdom more than ever - a passion that worship is not meant to be kept behind the four walls of the church. Worship is meant to be experienced in our neighbourhoods, in our communities, in our day-to-day lives. It's meant to reach the corners of the world because there's no better good news than the Gospel.
We'd be so grateful if you'd consider praying for us these next few months as we write and record. We never want to just write songs to feed an industry. These days there's so much bad news it can feel overwhelming. More than ever, the world is hungry for GOOD NEWS. It's hungry to hear something hopeful. It's hungry for the love and light of Jesus we all carry inside of us."
Since the release of their first album, Organic Family Hymnal, the group's authentic and energetic style of worship has attracted an international audience. The group saw early success as their first ever single "Build Your Kingdom Here," reached the No. 12 spot on the National Christian Audience Chart. Their 2014 release The Art of Celebration, charted at No. 1 on the Billboard Christian Albums Chart within the first week of its release. Known for their electric lively worship, the band has been a part of several major tours with top artists such as Chris Tomlin, MercyMe, Kari Jobe, Lecrae and more. Their latest album, As Family We Go, landed the No. 1 spot on every iTunes Christian Albums Chart. Campfire II: Simplicity is available now.
