Gotee Records Celebrates Its First #1 with Ryan Stevenson's "Eye of the Storm"
Gotee Records, one of Christian music's most successful independent labels, is celebrating their first #1 on Billboard's National Christian Audience (NCA) and Mediabase Christian Audience charts this week with Ryan Stevenson's "Eye of the Storm" (feat. GabeReal). The breakthrough, multi-format single from the GRAMMY®-nominated singer/songwriter is making history for the label as it has topped six charts, including iTunes' Christian and Gospel Songs.
"Eye of the Storm" is currently marking three consecutive weeks at #1 on Billboard'sChristian AC Monitored and Mediabase Christian AC charts, and two consecutive weeks on Billboard's AC Indicator chart. The song has also reached a combined 5.5 million streams from Pandora, Spotify and YouTube.
"Over the years Gotee has had so many great songs I'm proud we've been a part of-songs that have been successful at radio; songs that have been certified Gold by the RIAA; and songs we feel will have an impact for years to come," said Joey Elwood, president and co-founder, Gotee Records. "But in our 20-year history, we've never had a song hit so many milestones so quickly for us. It's exciting for all of us at Gotee to celebrate with Ryan the impact this song is having. I can't wait to see what the future holds for this unbelievable songwriter and artist we get to call our partner."
A new acoustic video for "Eye of the Storm" debuted today. The compelling clip, featuring both Stevenson and GabeReal, was recently filmed in Nashville and can be viewed here:
Featuring GabeReal of DiverseCity and penned by Stevenson and producer Bryan Fowler, "Eye of the Storm" is an anthem of hope and encouragement in the midst of hard times. Stevenson's current chart reign follows last year's multi-weekBillboard Christian Hot AC/CHR #1, "Not Forgotten" (feat. TobyMac). While "Eye of the Storm" is Stevenson's first AC #1 as an artist, he co-wrote TobyMac's multi-week smash "Speak Life," which topped charts in 2013 and was nominated for a GRAMMY® Award in 2014.
This fall, Stevenson will be a featured guest on GRAMMY®-nominated, Platinum®-selling Newsboys' "Love Riot Tour." Hitting more than 40 cities around the country, the tour will also include Dove Award-winners The Afters and a special message from acclaimed author and speaker Bob Lenz. Stevenson is slated to join next year's Jesus Freak Cruise reuniting dcTalk and featuring TobyMac and DiverseCity, Newsboys, Kevin Max and label-mates Finding Favour, Capital Kings and Hollyn.
Founded in 1994 by Joey Elwood, Todd Collins and GRAMMY® Award-winning, multi-Platinum selling artist TobyMac, Gotee Records is home to Capital Kings, Finding Favour, Hollyn and Ryan Stevenson. The label has garnered six RIAA Gold recordings and has introduced such definitive artists as Relient K, Out of Eden, Grits, and SonicFlood to the Christian marketplace.
