Listen to Blake Shelton's New Christian Song "Savior's Shadow" Here
Country mussic superstar Blake Shelton has just a brand new song "Savior's Shadow." The song is taken his upcoming studio album If I'm Honest, and it's a hymn-esque ode to the singer's faith.
Blake Shelton's "Savior's Shadow" is a gospel song that finds a centered country singer giving glory to God."Though the Devil tried to break me/my sweet Jesus won't forsake me/When I'm in my savior's shadow/where I'm supposed to be," Shelton sings.
Shelton tweeted about the song when he, Jessi Alexander and Jon Randall wrote it back in August 2015. He teased an "important song," but it wasn't clear it'd made the album until Alexander and Randall talked to Taste of Country in March.
"He started an incredible song, a gospel song, and asked me and JR to help him finish," Alexander says. "It's beautiful and moving and I can't wait for him to tell the story. It's almost his 'Why Me Lord' - it's very deep to him and to us." "Why Me Lord" is a well-known Kris Kristofferson song that seemingly came out of nowhere when released.
"It came deep from Blake's soul and we were just glad we got to kind of help him birth it."
