Joey + Rory Feek Respond to their Grammy Loss
One of the most disappointing news wih regards to this year's Grammy Awards is that Chistian country music duo Joey + Rory Feek did not win. The couple were nominated in the category of Best Country Duo/Group Performance, but they lost out to Little Big Town. Despite the disappointment, the Feeks responded to the loss with grace.
On Monday (Feb. 16), Joey + Rory posted a photo of their Grammy nomination medal with the caption: "...more than enough."
Due to the fact that Joey has been too weak due to her last bout with terminal cancer, the Feeks were not able to attend the Grammy Awards in LA. Representing the couple at couple were Rory's daughters Heidi and Hopie, as well as their beloved manager, Aaron Carnahan.
"Joey tried to talk me into going with them ... many, many times," Rory revealed on his blog This Life I Live. "She even had a Southwest ticket purchased for me that I canceled. I can't leave her. I won't. I have done many foolish things and made lots of mistakes in my life, but this isn't going to be one of them."
"Instead, I will be sitting beside her and cheering on Little Big Town, and Blake Shelton and Charles and all the talented folks who are nominated in our category and others. It's an honor for us to just be a part of that night, it truly is," the singer added.
Here's a listen to their Grammy nominated song:
