Chris August Tied the Knot with Katelin Cummings
Singer and songwriter Chris August has tied the knot over the weekend with Katelin Cummings. We extend our congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. August.
Sharing on social media, he said: "I would say yesterday was amazing, but that would be an understatement. I would say it was life changing, but that's a given. Other than giving my life to Christ, it was the best day and the most awesome decision I've ever made."
"As you can see in this photo, I couldn't stop smiling. The reason? She's standing next to me. A true blessing. During his speech at the toast, one of my best friends, Bryan Kluger, said 'many people say your wedding day is the best day of your life. Well, I hope that each is better than the last, making today actually the worst day of your life.' We all laughed because it's funny, but it's very true as well. I married my best friend last night and I got to have so many of my friends and family there to celebrate it with me," he added.
August concluded, "I'm truly thankful for everyone that came to be a part of it. I'm thankful for the sacrifices they made to be there. The costs. Their time. THANK YOU! Lastly, thank you to everyone who has been praying for us leading up to this day, and for the prayers you continue to bring to the Lord. We are striving to be more like Him every day. Loving the way He loves. I love you, Katelin!"
August started out as a secular artist without getting far. Later, August wrote the song "Starry Night" as a demo and he received a contract from Word Records.
He recorded the album No Far Away in 2010 and the song was released as a single that year. The album peaked at No. 15 on the Christian Albums charts and No. 9 on the Heatseeker Albums. The single hit No. 1 on the Billboard Christian Songs chart and it reached No. 21 on Billboard's Heatseeker Songs. His second single was "7x70" which is a song about forgiveness following his parents' divorce when he was a fifth grade student..
August received five Dove Award nominations in 2011: New Artist of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year, subsequently winning New Artist of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and Pop/Contemporary Recorded Album of the Year.
