'Scandal' Season 4 Episode 6 'An Innocent Man' - Latest News And Spoilers: Is Jake The "Innocent Man"?
Confronting the most powerful man in the world is not a good idea. "Scandal" gets deeper with more revelations. In last week's episode 'The Key', US President Fitzgerald Grant (Tony Goldwyn) goes overboard with his desire for the truth. Did Fitz act as a concerned father or as a jealous jilted lover of Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington)? Beating Jake Ballard (Scott Foley) to confess for the murder of his son Jerry was a desperate move from Fitz. Will Jake admit to the crime? Or will Fitz doom an innocent man to oblivion?
Questions the next episode 'An Innocent Man' might be able to answer. It is true that Jake didn't kill Harrison or Jerry, but in the third season, Jake did not do anything to save Jamie. In fact, he even watched while Jamie died a painful death. Is he still 'innocent'?
Meanwhile, White House press secretary Abby Whelan (Darby Stanchfield) does a daring act for a friend. Knowing that Fitz and Olivia had an affair once, Abby went with her intuition and faced a battle that might affect her career forever. Believing that Fitz had something to do with Jake's disappearance, she confronts the most powerful man in the world. Fitz tries to scare Abby by informing her that asking him a personal question is way above her paycheck.
Still Abby felt she hits the bull's-eye when she saw the bruised knuckles of Fitz. In the confrontation Abby also says, "I'm not asking the Commander-in-Chief. I'm asking the married man who used to sleep with my friend what he has done with the man she is currently sleeping with." Will Fitz do another drastic move and get rid of Abby for being too snoopy?
Still in the same episode, Chairwoman Elizabeth North (Portia de Rossi) returns causing trouble for White House Chief of Staff Cyrus Beene (Jeff Perry). It's a devious plan when Elizabeth hires a sex-performer to trap Cyrus so she could 'pollute' the White House to her heart's content. Sneaky! Sneaky!
Furthermore, First Lady Mellie (Bellamy Young) is learning to move on. In the last episode, viewers saw Mellie 'waking up' from her morose state. In the newest episode, Mellie will meet an interesting person- a former first lady. She might just be the person Mellie needs in her life right now; after all they have similar life stories. But is that the only thing they have in common?
And finally, to get her mind off the Jake situation for a while, Olivia accepts a new case. A convicted assassin swears he is an innocent man and wants Olivia's help proving it.
Some other regular characters in "Scandal" TV series are Quinn Perkins (Katie Lowes), Huck (Guillermo Diaz), and David Rosen (Joshua Malina).
Shonda Rhimes created the popular TV series. Zahir McGhee wrote the newest episode 'An Innocent Man' and is directed by Jeannot Szwarc.
Catch "Scandal" on ABC every Thursday at 9:00 pm.
