WWE & CM Punk Reportedly in Settlement Deal; WWE Again Selling CM Punk Merchandise

World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (WWE) and CM Punk appears to have reached some sort of deal, says WrestlingInc, after it was observed that the giant professional wrestling entertainment company began selling some CM Punk merchandise at the online WWE Shop. CM Punk quit the WWE back in January of this year, although officially his contract with the big wrestling entertainment company expired just this past summer. Anyway, CM Punk is now a free agent and can do whatever he wants with his time, including joining TNA, WWE's closest rival, or hosting a reality TV show as widely rumored by some on the Internet. The WWE for its part, after disposing much of it at bargain basement prices, has finally pulled out all merchandise items featuring CM Punk from the WWE Shop, that is, until recently, when it was found that it has resumed selling some CM Punk action figures and crimson X pendants.

According to a Game Spot report, CM Punk's lawyers are still engaged with WWE officials in a negotiation to settle a range of disputes, notably including his possible removal from the upcoming 2K Sports' WWE 2K15 video game. However, the game publisher is presently already promoting CM Punk's past rivalries with John Cena as a major selling point for the WWE 2K15 game which will come out in stores beginning today, October 28. Reworking the gaming programs at this late stage may therefore no longer be an option. A more likely scenario may involve settlements on the royalty payment terms and conditions.

One unintended consequence of CM Punk's reneging on his contract is its effect on the trajectory of his wife AJ Lee's career. AJ is currently on her third reign as the top WWE Diva. However, whenever she takes to the ring for her matches nowadays, especially if held in Chicago, fans invariably chant out loud, "C-M-Punk! C-M-Punk!" Naturally, this puts Lee in a tense and awkward situation with her employer, which incidentally, already bans fans from bringing in any CM Punk sign inside any WWE shows and events. AFI's "Miseria Cantare - The Beginning," may even no longer be allowed to be played there since that is the best known CM Punk theme song.
