"I give praise and thanks to the Lord for the many blessings, and I'm thankful to everyone for the strong support of my music," said Tamela. "I'm honored to be recognized by the NAACP and to share my music with a new audience. All of the glory goes to Him."
After performing live on the NAACP Image Award on FOX in 2010, Tamela received her first NAACP Image Award nomination that same year for Outstanding Gospel Album (Traditional or Contemporary) of The Year for her CD, The Master Plan and two nominations in 2013 for Outstanding Female Artist and Outstanding Gospel Album (Traditional or Contemporary) of The Year for her CD, Best Days.
The NAACP Image Awards celebrates the accomplishments of people of color in the fields of television, music, literature and film and also honors individuals or groups who promote social justice through creative endeavors.
