'The Blacklist' Season 2 Recap & Spoilers: The Secret That Liz Was Hiding From Red, Tom Chained Behind The Secret Door
"The Blacklist" season 2, episode 6, "The Mombasa Cartel," will deliver answers, as audiences ask: who is the mysterious woman in Red's life? And, what was Liz hiding behind the secret door? But, before all of that, they first need to deal with the terrifying case in this episode of "The Blacklist."
At the start of "The Mombasa Cartel" episode, Red tells Liz about the dead bodies that were found and their connection to the "Mombasa Cartel," which is a secretive crime syndicate that handles human trafficking and illegal animal poaching. Red arranges a meeting for Liz with a rich wildlife conservationist, Jeff Pearl, who could have additional information about the cartel.

In this episode, Agent Ressler's addiction to painkillers will be revealed, as well as the F.B.I.'s willingness to do what it takes to obtain a prescription of the medication. Agent Ressler will head the investigation and question the lady named Skye, who was purchasing people from the cartel for the sake of her mentally disabled son Mathew—they were purchased so that they could be hunted in the woods and stuffed just like dolls. During the questioning process, Agent Ressler is knocked out, yellow-tagged and left in the woods to be hunted.
Agent Ressler manages to stab and outsmart his hunter, catching him off guard by pretending to be one of Matthew's dolls in the woods. Liz, together with other F.B.I. agents, eventually arrive at Skye's house with force; however, before they can get their hands on Skye and the wounded Matthew, Skye electrocutes both herself and Matthew in their bathtub.
In the "Scimitar" episode, the secret that Liz was hiding from Red was her husband, an agent named Tom. Tom was assumed dead in the "Blacklist" Season 1 finale, but his body was missing because Liz took possession of it. It is revealed that Tom has since been kept captive in chains in a secret room, so that Liz can attempt to extract information from him regarding Berlin; although, Liz is thinking of finishing him off. Furthermore, it seems that identifying what Liz is trying to hide leaves Red in a dangerous situation.
Red will end up exploring his own secret in episode 7, "Zoe D' Antonio." In that episode, Red assumes the fake name of Kenneth as part of a plan to try to get close to the mystery girl.
