Sony Xperia Z3v: An Overlooked, Underrated Device
Sony Xperia Z3v: An Overlooked, Underrated Device
There have been some huge releases over the last few months, but the Sony Xperia Z3v has flown under the radar after it was launched a week ago. The device may not have a sleek design to rival the other great handsets on the market; but, honestly, it is one of the best devices you could purchase today. Sony has made a name for itself through its solid handsets that are actually better than the value assigned by the public.
It is important to keep in mind that the Xperia Z3v was not designed in a vacuum—to be able to keep up with a few of the more famous flagship handsets, Sony made sure that it included several terrific specs, including a 1080p 5.2 resolution screen, which looks very nice upon first impression; a 801, 2.5 GHz Snapdragon processor; 3GB of RAM; a 3200mAh battery; and a 20MP camera that is capable of shooting a 4K video. Moreover, this device sports an integrated wireless Qi charging function, as well as an "ultra-power" energy saving mode, just in case you are struggling with battery life.
In terms of software, the Sony Xperia is run by the Android 4.4.4 platform, polished by Sony's skin. With regard to skins, Sony typically offers the least obnoxious kinds; although, they don't always provide the smoothest experience all of the time.
But still, with the above-mentioned specs, and a few other product optimizations, the Sony experience should be fluid and fast. This will be of most benefit to those who are online game fanatics, as the device can stream games from your PlayStation 4 console, just like other Sony handsets and the Z3 Tablet Compact, which is also a member of the Z3 family.
While the specs of the Sony Z3v are considered "next level," its design is admittedly not the best that we've seen. Its physical look is akin to the Sony Xperia Z2, which implies that there is a noticeable gap between Sony's generations. But, rest assured that you can still obtain Sony's popular and familiar constructions that are IP-certified 65/68—the Ingress Protection rating means that users can capture images and record videos at a depth of five feet for a 30-minute duration. And even though this might not be the ideal scenario that you've pictured yourself in—holding your shiny, new handset—you never know, as you just may want to take pictures and videos in the rain someday. Who knows?
