'GTA: San Andreas': Rockstar Games Will Re-release 'GTA San Andreas' After 10 Years
It looks like Rockstar Games will be celebrating the 10-year anniversary of "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" by re-releasing the popular game. The re-introduction of the game was introduced through the release of a new Xbox 360 version.
The new version was released two days ago, on October 26, and upgrades included in the recent release will mean that gamers can enjoy 720p resolution, enhanced draw distance, and 33 achievements as part of the in-game and story-based features.
Along with the re-release of the game, Rockstar Games also held associated contests and giveaways, which are previewed on their website, Rockstar Games. In addition to offering Double GTA$ and RP for playing the San Andreas Throwback Jobs featured playlist, they also produced exclusive San Andreas radio station t-shirts; in-game discounts, so that players could adorn their in-game selves with green clothing, bandanas, BMX bikes and vehicle suspension mods; and a #gtasanandreas Snapmatic contest. If you were still not satisfied with all of that, the Throwback Jobs featured playlist was broadcast as a live stream on the Rockstar Twitch channel, and featured the Social Club members responsible for the playlist, as well as friends from both Twitch and YouTube.
Ecumenical News quoted the Rockstar Games blog and wrote that it has been 10 years since Carl Johnson and the families introduced "Grove Street" to the collective consciousness in "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas." The "GTA Online" 10-year-anniversary celebration of the game last weekend served to honor the legacy of "San Andreas," and the inclusion of fan benefits—such as different in-game discounts and bonuses—clearly signified the adoration that is felt among the global gaming community for this franchise. Not only was the celebration held for two days, but Rockstar offered participants the chance to win original "San Andreas" gear, both real-life and in-game products, so that avid gamers could show their devotion in "meatspace" as well!
"Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" is an open world, action-adventure video game, developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. The title was released on October 26, 2004, for the PlayStation 2 console, and on June 7, 2005, for Microsoft Windows and Xbox. It is the seventh title in the "Grand Theft Auto" series, and the first major entry since 2002's "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City." It was released on the same day as the handheld game "Grand Theft Auto Advance."
The game's multitude of fans voiced their excitement in the comment section of the Rockstar website, and many were happy that Rockstar Games will re-release the game together with bonus events and giveaways. Many of the gamers also commented that they want to play the game again, along with the belief that this version will heighten their gaming experience considerably.
According to True Achievements, the game will not be compatible with the original Xbox version, meaning that any saved files cannot be transferred. Therefore, the owners of the Xbox version will need to download and play the game using their download history.
