'American Horror Story' Season 4 Episode 3 Recap and Spoilers: A Mysterious Man Will Walk-in to One of Elsa's Shows and Make Her Famous
It's an early Halloween treat for everyone, as "American Horror Story" brings Edward Mordrake on the show. The third episode showcased the first instalment of the two-part episodes dedicated to "Edward Mordrake".... And the clown, may we add that please.
The latest episode started with two con artists Stanely (Denis O'Hare) and Esmeralda (Emma Roberts) who would like to sell their "authentic baby Sasquatch", that turns out be just a feral goat with cat's jaw sewed on. Unfortunately, the "American" Morbidity Museum did not buy it... literally. But one of the staff approached them to offer a deal, the museum needs something to tick off the sales and that something could be a dead body of a freak.
With the promised money in exchange for a dead freak, the con-artists went to Elsa's freak show, where "Emma Roberts" disguised herself as a "Gypsy". At first Elsa was unconvinced by the act, however when Esmeralda told her that a mysterious man will walk-in to one of her shows and make her famous, she was hired immediately! Elsa believed in the fake prophecy, which then pushed her to practice her singing during the Halloween. In accordance with the myth, a practice performance during Halloween is enough to pull "Edward Mordrake's" soul out of the depths of hell. Indeed, he appeared, but he was not creepy enough. He actually looks like some nice old guy from the good old days not until he turned his backs on you... that's where the crop comes in. In relation to the myth "Mordrake" couldn't leave without bringing another freak. We all thought that it will be Ethel, since "Mordrake" had a little chat with her, but the second face, whispered, "not that one" and he disappeared.
Meanwhile, "Twisty the Clown" (John Caroll Lynch) abducted one of the boys in town. The boy was torturing his little sister with a clown and ironically, he was taken away by one. Danny (Finn Wittrock) perceives himself as Twisty's prodigy, but too afraid to put a knife on someone. To bring back the lost dignity, he went to the abandoned school bus and terrorize Twisty's prisoners. While doing so, the clown arrived with his next victim. Danny was oblivious to Twisty's disappointment to see him on the hideout. The episode ended when Danny uttered those creepy words, "More fun".
As for what's next on the "American Horror Story": Freak Show, "Mordrake" is looking for a true freak to bring with him and everyone's clearly not safe.
