Yancy to Release Jesus Music Box: The Devotional
Yancy, Christian music's reigning Queen of Diversity, will release Jesus Music Box: The Devotional! - a new daily devotional book based on the songs from her 2013 album release, Jesus Music Box. Distributed by Elevate Entertainment, the new devotional will be available online and in Christian bookstores on March 4th.
Matching each song to a different chapter, the 12-week devotional for preteens covers a variety of topics including standing up for Christ, how God provides, prayer, why we worship, the promise that God is always with us and more.
"I love breaking down the message of the songs and helping underline and highlight those subjects and thoughts with scripture from God's Word," says Yancy, who previously released a successful devotional book tied to her Rock-N-Happy Heart album. "After this devotional experience I know that these scriptures and thoughts will be planted in student's spirits. They will be reminded of those daily devotional lessons with each listen to the songs from the album of the same name for years to come. I'm excited to help students grow in their faith by encouraging them to spend time in the Word and prayer daily."
In support of Jesus Music Box, Yancy will hit the road this spring leading worship for SuperStart by Christ In Youth (www.ciy.com/superstart), the nation's largest touring preteen event. The tour is sponsored by CMConnect.org, Orange Curriculum, WorshipHouseKids.com and The Message Bible (Navpress).
This summer, kids around the world will experience Yancy's music through Standard Publishing's Jungle Safari VBS. This is the third year Yancy's original songs, production and videos have been featured in one of the top "Vacation Bible School" products available.
"Music is an amazing tool that we have to connect with kids and help them learn," says Yancy. "I love that the message kids learn at VBS will stick with them for years to come through the melodies and words I put into the songs they sing."
For more than a decade, Yancy has released radio-friendly pop/rock albums and multiple projects for kids and young adults, all while sharing the stage with such artists as Mute Math, Newsboys and Nichole Nordeman. As a writer, Yancy has teamed up with Third Day's Mac Powell, wrote Avalon's #1 hit "I Don't Want To Go" and Jaci Velasquez's "Something Beautiful," among others.
