Apple Pay on iPhone 5S: Apple Watch or iPhone 6 is Better?
Apple Pay on iPhone 5S: Apple Watch or iPhone 6 is Better?
The payment system developed by Apple headquarters is definitely one of its most impressive innovations. It is not that we did not have virtual wallets but the kind of technology that scans cards, remembers them and also offers high level security with finger print recognition is truly amazing.
So, Apple has finally rolled out the iOS 8.1 update, which apparently supports Apple Pay on iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. According to Forbes, over 300 financial institutions have supported this payment solution and it is confirmed that this system will be a huge thing in the coming months.
But, what happens with users who have bought a new iPhone 5S recently and do not want to purchase another phone right now? They will actually have to wait till the release of Apple Watch in absence of NFC chip that facilitates payment. For now, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are the only devices running on this technology until Apple Watch releases in January 2015.
Apple Pay with iPhone 5S set up will be much simpler once the users invest in their new watch. Now the problem is that spending $300 to $400 on a simple accessory is not on everybody's to-do list just to be able to pay through smartphone. However, Apple Watch is actually more than a timekeeping device (although it will be one of the most precise watches out there in the market). Marketed as the new fashion statement, these smartwatches will actually help navigate through the maps, read messages and mails, answer calls, draw with fingers, and a lot of such things that were once a part of spy movies. Apple Watch is definitely a good investment in technology that will also help with payment facilities.
On the other hand, many experts also advice that you can later sell the iPhone 5S and invest money in iPhone 6, if smartwatch is not something of your choice. The price for iPhone 6 should fall in the coming months, and you can easily get the 16 GB at just $749, which $350 more than resale value of iPhone 5S approximately.
