Iron man has been one of the most successful movie sequels following the Transformers movie and its previous installment i.e. Iron Man III was a huge success that made the lead actor, Robert Downey Jr. be named by Forbes magazine as the highest paid actor of that time. Well in earlier reports it was revealed that he would only star in Iron Man 4 if his good friend Mel Gibson would agree to direct it but he later revealed he was only joking. Earlier, Robert Downey Jr. was featured in Ellen DeGeneres show where he revealed and confirmed that indeed there were ongoing negotiations for a 4^th  instalment of the Iron Man Movie which was a joy for fans but on the downside he revealed most shocking news. There was still no script written for this movie, 'Iron Man 4' and that he will be working on another project with Marvel.

Following his statement, many speculations erupted and suggested that the actor could finally be passing down his role as the Invincible Iron Man to another actor most probably to a younger actor. In an interview with the Telegraph, Robert Downey tried as much to steer away questions about iron man 4 and instead talked about the future of superhero movies. Many speculations are suggesting that Avengers will be the last instalment that Iron Man will feature in and in a statement Robert said, "Avengers was another opportunity, but they're not talking about Iron Man 4. I was kind of bombed out to tell the truth, but maybe they've got bigger fish to fry and I trust their overall vision. The funny thing about these movie genre is you'd think they were national secrets."
