Once again, the rivalry between tech giants Apple and Samsung will feel the heat as on October 16 at Apple's Town Hall Auditorium in California, Apple launched its new iPad Mini 3. Moreover, the tablet industry is not as thriving as it once was, with phablet starting to gain more users. iPad Mini 3 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.4 both have a lot to prove, on their own and against each other.

The iPad Mini 3 presents 7.9-inch of display size with 1536 x 2048 pixels resolution. The pixel density is around 324 pixels per inch, which is very sharp for the display size. The display type is LED backlit IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen and protected by oleo phobic coating. On the other had Samsung leads the display quality with larger display screen size in Galaxy Tab 8.4.

Samsung tab 8.4 offers gigantic 8.4-inches display screen size with 1600 x 2560 pixels resolution. The pixel density 359 pixels per inch even crossed the iPad Mini 3's pixels despite its greater screen size. The display type is the latest Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with Samsung built in TouchWiz user interface mentioned in the Fuse Joplin.

The camera sensor quality of the iPad 3 Mini disappointed many of Apple's fans as it only comes with only 5MP rear facing camera that can record video of 1080p at 30 frames per second. The front facing camera is also not up to the mark as it offers 1.2MP sensor. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.4 has better camera quality compared to iPad Mini 3 with its 8MP primary camera sensor that has 3264 x 2448 pixels resolution. The secondary camera is 2.1MP, which is also better than the iPad Mini camera, GSM Arena reports.

The hardware department of Galaxy Tab 8.4 theoretically beats the iPad Mini3. The iPad Mini 3 has Apple A7 chipset with Dual-Core 1.3GHz Cyclone processor. The processor department is assisted with PowerVR quad core graphics emulator. Galaxy Tab 8.4 has powerful Exynos 5 Octa chipset that has quadcore 1.9GHz Cortex -A15 and quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex A7 processor. To provide excellent gaming experience the GPU slot is provided with Mali T628 MP6 chip as mentioned in Phandroid.

The iPad Mini 3 has 16/64/128 GB internal storage based model without any facility of expanding storage system while Galax Tab S 8.4 has 16/32GB internal storage model with additional 128GB storage expandable facility. The iPad Mini 3 is equipped with 1GB of RAM while Galaxy Tab 8.4 has 3GB of RAM.
